In the late 90s straight edge and mosh metal were the running themes in American hardcore. These dudes from philadelphia weren’t really down with either. Starting out as a DC style hardcore band in the vein of Swiz, Ink and Dagger moved on to incorporate elements of psych and electronic music on their later records. It’s trippy as hell music with a sense of humor. The band was notorious for vomiting on christmas trees on stage, picking fights with Earth Crisis, the militant vegan band from upstate New York, as well as dressing up like vampires for nearly all of their shows. This self titled record came out on Buddyhead in 2000, shortly after lead singer Patrick McCabe was found dead in an Illinois hotel room. This band is seriously so much better than At the Drive-in.
